WORLD RABIES DAY: 28.9.2016

                     Free Anti-Rabies Vaccination programme was conducted by AH & Vety Department in coordination with Mizoram State Vety Council on 28.9.2016 at all Veterinary Hospitals in all Districts. The programme being organised to mark the anniversary of Louis Pasteur's death, the French Chemist and Microbiologist who developed the first Anti Rabies Vaccine.

                   The theme for 2016 World Rabies Day is " Rabies:Educate,Vaccinate,Eliminate" which emphasises the two crucial actions that communities can do to prevent rabies. It also reflects the global target to eliminate all human deaths from dog-mediated rabies by 2030.

 

 

 

World Zoonoses Day

Free Anti-Rabbies Vaccination had been jointly conducted by Mizoram State Veterinary Council AH & Vety Department, Mizoram on the World Zoonoses Day, the 6th July 2016. In all the eight districts of Mizoram large numbers of pet dogs were vaccinated with ARV. For campaign of awareness on zoonotic disease and importance of Biosecurity for animal farmers, Live discussion programme was conducted by Dr. Engkunga Chhangte SVO, Dr. K. Lalrintluanga, Assistant professor, nh College of Veterinary Science, Selesih and Dr. Neihthangpuii VO, Disease Investigation Wing and was broadcasted through DDK, Aizawl.

 

 

Livelihood Skill Training

SHALOM (Society for HIV/AIDS and Lifetime operation in Mizoram) conducted training on management of poultry and piggery farms for people with HIV+ on 24.6.2016(Friday) at Zarkawt Recreation Centre, Aizawl. The training was resourced by Dr. R.L. Tanpuii SVO(VE) and Dr. K.V.L. Rochharzela, Manager Pigfed about 40 trainees came to attend.
