The Department had laid much emphasis on the maintenance of animal health for which Veterinarians & Para Vets are actively involved in the treatment, control and Prevention of animal diseases in the state. Entry of animals from outside the State were also monitored and animals were examined at different strategic locations where Disease Surveillance check posts were established. Animal Disease Surveillance programmes had been strictly enforced specially in the International border areas.
Outbreak of diseases if any were promptly attended and samples were examined at Disease Libraries at the Districts Level and State Disease Investigation Laboratory at Aizawl. Procurements and issue of medicines, vaccines and instruments were routed through this wing.
